Hometown: Jersey City, NJ
Experience: "I taught a range of populations (including ELL and Special Ed) in public schools for 6 years before joining Carnegie Learning. I also taught at Bergen Community College part-time while a full-time public school teacher. I have a Master's in Educational Technology and Educational Leadership."
Why Carnegie Learning? "I chose to work at Carnegie Learning because the products really do help students learn. Carnegie Learning is different because it is research-proven. Everything is intentional and the design of the products is truly a collaborative effort with input from stakeholders like instructional designers, master practitioners, the customer, learning scientists and other experts. We are transforming the classroom with the mindset that all students can learn and all teachers can be great practitioners. Also, there is not a day where I do not learn something new, and I really enjoy learning."
Fun Fact: "I have a French Bulldog named Milkshake."
"This workshop was amazing. It was engaging, informative, collaborative, hands-on and much more. Michael was very prepared, professional, and unconventional. It was worth it."
"Michael created a warm and welcoming environment where I felt safe to ask questions. His level of questioning pushed my thinking process."
"Michael was amazing! He was so efficient in everything he did. He was well-organized and he really got me to understand and look at math in a different way. As a child, I struggled with math, and he supported me so much this week -- never by giving me the answer, but rather with a question to push me. Thank you Michael, this was great!!!"
