This four-part program is open to the public and shares models and best practices for administrators, policy-makers, and teachers actively pursuing tangible student improvement in mathematics. Presenters include Robert Compton, creator and executive producer of Two Million Minutes, the 2008 documentary that sounded the alarm on the education crisis in America; Scott DeFreese, academic dean for New Technology High Arsenal Tech in Indianapolis; and Myra Snell, professor of mathematics for 17 years at Los Medanos College in California, among other education leaders. “The United States has spent billions of dollars on education reform over the past 25 years and realized no real improvement to our math education system,” said Robert Compton, participating as an uncompensated speaker for the Carnegie Learning® Webinar series. “Once seen as a social issue, our failing education system, particularly the crisis in math and science education, is now a significant economic concern.
